Hand-drawn animation film rendered in Keyshot

Hello, Keyshot Community!

I am happy to share with you the trailer of our newest project “Cornucopia”. It is an almost 8 minutes short animation film about an 5000 y.o. ancient ceramic vase found in today’s Iran. Some people believe, that this vase contains the first sequential images ever found.

The characters/backgrounds were drawn by hand with brush and Indian ink on paper. They were then digitized and realigned. For the final renderings in Keyshot, the sequenced drawings were projected on a 3D model as animated labels. Furthermore, inside Keyshot we were able to animate the geometry & envoironments.

The film had its world premiere last week on ANIMATEKA in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

Thank you for your hard work and developing the suitable tool for our creative vision.

Greetings from Vienna,

Dimiter Ovtcharov

That is a very orignal and impressive use of KeyShot. Great job.

Wow! Thank you all for the positive reactions! We really enjoyed working with Keyshot!

(Here a short sample of a sequence, where geometry translation and labels animation are combined)

We are still unable to publish the full length of the animation online here, because the film is still being presented on festivals.
It is half the fun to watch only the trailer, but as we made the research about the film we didn’t find a similar artistic approach and use of the Labels function,
used to cinematically express an entire animation storyline. So we thought it will be pity to not share it on the Keyshot Forum! Thank you again for your feedback!
Cheers!
